Praise for Dare to Hope
“The message of HOPE right now is countercultural, and God’s people can be viral kingdom agents with this message. Melissa Spoelstra helps us understand how critical Jeremiah’s words are for us. Her deeply personal and insightful treatment of these scriptures makes them more relevant than today’s news.”
—Reggie McNeal author of Kingdom Conspirators and Kingdom Come
You Can Live With Hope
As women living in an unstable world, a world where marriages fail, bank accounts run low, friendships end, and every day demands get us down, hope can be hard to find. But, in the Book of Jeremiah, God calls out to His people with a message that hope is possible even in an unstable world.
In Dare to Hope: Living Intentionally in an Unstable World, Melissa Spoelstra, Bible teacher, author, and speaker, draws upon the hope-filled message in the Book of Jeremiah and her own Bible study Jeremiah: Daring to Hope in an Unstable World to examine six practical guidelines for intentional living to overcome fear, worry, and doubt by surrendering to God and putting hope in Him alone.
Dare to Hope Six Guidelines for Intentional Living
2. Reject Counterfeits
4. Check Your Heart
5. Take Personal Responsibility
6. Pursue Intimacy with God
Sample Dare to Hope Challenge
In order to be intentional about giving your heart fully to God, I invite you to seal these five “heart cautions” in your mind—and maybe even write them down. Then rehearse them regularly as a heart checkup that will help you to give your whole heart to God:
- Be careful to evaluate your own heart.
- Be careful not to confuse behavior modification with heart change.
- Be careful to bring your hurting heart to God.
- Be careful to guard your heart.
- Be careful to seek God wholeheartedly.
Whenever you rehearse these “heart cautions,” be sure to take time in God’s presence, letting Him speak His whole-hearted love over you—His dearly loved child. Never forget that God loves you with all of His heart!
